90.1 FM KPFT Houston is going into fundraising mode today.
As you probably know, KPFT is a community sponsored, Pacifica Radio station. Almost all of our funding comes from our listeners. This allows us to broadcast commercial free 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year. That’s pretty amazing, but it can’t happen without a little help from our friends.
The next two episodes of Technology Bytes Radio will be dedicated to raising funds during this pledge drive. Our commitment is to make our monetary goal each week with the hopes of doing so early so we can suspend fundraising during each weeks’ program and carry on with a regular broadcast.
To that end, we are asking fans of Technology Bytes and fans of KPFT to donate early. If we can collect the funds before the show even airs we can do a regular show without begging. We’re not asking for your life savings, just small contribution to the radio station that means so much to the Houston community.
